Favaro Veneto 26 June 1978: everyone was ready: hats in place, the white-striped shirts. One last look at the clock: the excitement that evening was at its peak.
Political parties and associations, for financing and for researching new members or more simply to consolidate the positions, they organize parties and events with local clubs in many parts of Italy music and entertainment: the DC with the “Festival of Friendship”, the PSI with that of “Forward”, and the PCI with the “Festa dell’Unità”. In one of these, at Favaro Veneto on June 26, 1978, twelve people were preparing to go on stage for the first time. They were announced with: “Ladies and Gentlemen, here is The Serenissima Choir! “
None of them, perhaps, would have imagined that from that moment began a career that would lead them to perform in Venice, Mestre, throughout the Venetian land, Austria, France and Germany, as well as participate in reviews with many other groups from various parts of the world.
“A vocal and instrumental complex, established in Favaro in June 1978 on the initiative of a group of friends reluctantly transferred from Venice to the mainland ”. There are the essential ingredients of the group: singing, music, nostalgia for Venice and recovery of traditions.
